Hey guys! Welcome back. I don’t know about you, but I am mostly a people pleaser. Because of that I am constantly on the defense and I feel like I need to explain every decision I make. I don’t want people to speak badly of me or laugh at me because what I am doing or the decisions I make don’t reflect what they think it right. But it’s time to stop. It’s time to stop letting fear of what other people think dictate our lives. Because you are the one who has to live your life and you need to be happy with it. So here are some things you don’t owe anyone an explanation for.

Your alone time.

What you choose to do in your free time is none of anyone else’s business. You have your own hobbies and dreams. You have passions and goals. And if you choose to spend your free time pursuing those, that is your business. If you choose to spend your free time watching Netflix or resting, that is also your business. Unless you are harming someone or yourself, it is no one’s place to intervene and tell you that how you spend your time is not acceptable.

You education.

Whether you have a Doctorate degree or just finished high school, that does not determine your worth. If going to college is going to get you to your dream job, then go for it. If not, don’t waste your time. Your education is determined by you and you alone. It doesn’t make you any better regardless of what end of the scale you are on. All that matters is that you do what makes you happy.

Your appearance.

If you don’t like the way you look, change it. If someone else doesn’t like the way you look, move on. It’s not up to anyone else to dictate how you look. It’s all up to you. Don’t let other people bring you down just because they don’t like someone. Again, they are not living your life. You are. You have to be happy and comfortable. You don’t owe anyone an explanation for why you look the way you do. That’s none of their business.

Your religion.

Your religious preferences are up to you. If you choose to share them, then of course there are going to be people who question them and you may feel the need to explain. But you don’t have to. Never feel as though you have to defend your religion regardless of what you believe.

Your relationships.

There may be people who question your relationships and friendships. But that’s not their place. Unless it is harming you in some way, no one has the right to tell you you shouldn’t be with someone. That is for you to decide. You know yourself and what makes you happy. If you are happy, then no one else has a say.

Your life.

Your life is yours. You have to get up everyday and live it. No one else can do that for you. Don’t let other people dictate who you are and how you live. You don’t owe anyone an explanation for why you live the way you do. It’s just you. It’s who you are. If you are happy and comfortable, that’s good enough. You don’t owe anyone an explanation for why you live somewhere, why you have a certain job, or why you do any of the things you do.
