Hey guys! Finals are coming up and I wanted to talk to you about my study routine. Of course, everyone’s routine is different, but I always like knowing what other people do. Sometimes it helps me come up with some new ideas or find new things to try if something isn’t working for me. I hope this inspires you to come up with your won routine so you can be organized and efficient while studying.

Set realistic goals.

When it comes to studying, or accomplishing anything really, you need to have goals. But a realistic goal is not “I am going to study for six hours at a time”. A realistic goal would be “I will study for two hours at a time, while taking a short break if needed”. This gives your body and mind the opportunity to digest what you are studying and working on. It will benefit you in the long run.

Study daily.

This goes along with the first step, but it’s extremely important. Studying daily allows you to study in smaller sections. This way you are not cramming the night before a test. You have time to get everything done. You will see the progress along the way. Getting something done everyday is better than waiting until the last minute. Because at least you will have something.

Set times.

It is important to know what time of day you study the best. Whether it is in the morning, during the day, or at night, you need to know. Forcing yourself to study at night when you are not a night owl can seriously damage your focus and intent. If you prefer to get up in the morning and study, do that. I know when I am at my best so I always try to get as much done as I can at that time.

Find a place to study.

Sometimes I study in my room on my bed or at my desk. Sometimes I study other places. I just try to find a place where I can be comfortable and focus on what I am doing. It gives me a chance to devote time to my studies and not have any distractions. I need a clean space when I work because clutter is more distracting than anything.

Review notes.

One of the best ways for me to study is rewrite my notes. It is extremely important for me to go over everything and see if I have questions or need something clarified. This way I can ask questions about things when I see the professor. Reviewing my notes helps refresh me on a lot of the big points and key ideas from the class. This helps me structure what I need to study and what I remember.

One of the best things you can do when you are studying for a test is make sure you create good sleeping habits. This is another reason why it is important not to wait until the last minute to cram for a test. Your body needs sleep and your mind needs rest in order for you to do well on your test. So make sure you are developing those good sleeping patterns and give yourself a break.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Let us know in the comments what your study routine is or was. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
