Hey guys! Welcome back. I am back with another coffee chat. I enjoy doing these because they allow me to just spill my thoughts. Today I wanted to talk about mental health and taking care of it. I know that we are all usually very busy, so taking an entire day to ourselves isn’t always practical. But sometimes taking a mental health day is actually really good for you.
I know that I need days where I just don’t worry about anything, don’t stress about things I need to do, and I just allow myself to be at peace. It can be difficult in the beginning to get used to that because I feel guilty when I know there are things I could be doing, but I’m not. But I have learned to relax and just let myself take a break. It’s important because it gives my mind and body a chance to reset.
Think of it this way. If you are always using your phone and never charge it, the battery is going to die really quickly. But if you put it down, let it charge, and pick it up again, it’s going to be better. However, if you are constantly charging the phone, it could damage it. You need some kind of balance. It’s the same with mental health. Yes there are days when you need to work and you need to get things done. Not everyday can be a mental health day. But some days can be so you can recharge and feel better.
Mental health days are important. They give you the time you need to get rested and get ready to get back into things. Mental health is so important and I am so glad that society is starting to recognize that. I hope you do as well. Give yourself a break every now and then and you will start to see a difference.
