Hey guys! Welcome back. We all know I am a planner. I love to have a plan and know what is coming. But sometimes life throws us curve balls. Sometimes life doesn’t always go the way we expect it to. And don’t get me wrong, it’s easy to freak out when this happens. It is easy to get upset and think the whole day is ruined, but there are ways to remain calm in these situations. I wanted to share with you what those things are, so next time you are faced with a situation you can stay calm and figure things out.

Be realistic. Understanding that things don’t always go as planned and trying to force it to happen won’t get you what you want is a big part of remaining calm. If you have a setback and something doesn’t go the way you thought it would, you have to be realistic. Make sure you aren’t expecting everything to go right. You have to be flexible and understand that you don’t have complete control over everything. Life has plans of its own, regardless of what your goals are. You have to be prepared for the expected and the unexpected because otherwise, you will be sorely disappointed.

Be in the moment. Sometimes the best way to sort things out is to just be in the moment. Let yourself feel the frustration so you can figure out the best way to deal with it. You should never push your emotions to the side. The best thing to do is sit with your emotions and try to work through them. If you need to talk to someone, write them down, or just simply be still, working through the emotions will help you be more realistic and not as impulsive moving forward. From there, you can accept the situation instead of dwelling on it.

Decide what is next. The most important step is deciding how to proceed. You want to be realistic and not let your emotions take over. You want to have a clear grasp on what needs to be done and how much time you have to do it. Instead of resorting to giving up, you can consider what your options are. After you see clearly what your options are, you can make a plan on what you think your next steps should be. Make a realistic plan based on what works best for you.

    This helps a lot! I know it’s not a huge deal, but I had a skincare setback recently and it’s made me super self-conscious /: I’m just trying to get back to my healthy skin so I don’t have to hide anymore lol
