Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I am all about giving you guys tips and tricks on how to live your best life and today I wanted to help you be happier in general. There are so many ways that you can really improve your life, but one of the first things you need to do is let go of the things that bring you down. So here are some things to remove from your life to be happier.

1. Comparing yourself to others.

We all do it. We see someone else and their life and we wish we had what they have or were doing what they were doing. However, that can really bring you down. If you want to be happier, it is important that you work on not comparing yourself to other people. Your journey is not the same as theirs. You have no idea if you would actually be happy.

2. The unrealistic expectations you have for yourself.

If you are like me, you probably have some pretty unrealistic expectations for yourself. I am such a perfectionist that I always expect to do the best and really have everything exactly the way I want it. But those expectations prevent me from being happy and seeing the value in what I do.

3. Fear of the unknown.

I have a strong fear of the unknown. It’s been better as of late, but it’s still looming. If you let the fear of the unknown keep you from doing what you want or need to do, you will miss out on so much. You will miss so many opportunities and the chance to live up to your full potential.

4. Living in the past.

It’s over. It’s in the past for a reason. You have to move on and let it go. You can’t change it and you won’t get anywhere trying. You are who you are today because of what you went through. So don’t dwell on it. Acknowledge it and move on. You will be so much happier when you recognize where you life is right now.

5. Your busy schedule.

Don’t get me wrong, I love to stay busy too. But I have also learned the value of taking breaks and taking care of myself. I go a little crazy if I go non-stop and never give myself any time to rest. So if you want to be happier, schedule a little less during the day and find time to just relax.

6. Unhealthy relationships.

This is a big one. You have to learn to let go of people who aren’t good for. You will only be doing yourself a favor. Some people just aren’t the right people for you and that’s okay. In order to fully enjoy your life and be happy, you need to let go of the people who are stealing your joy.

7. Waiting for the perfect moment.

The perfect moment does not exist. I used to think that I had to wait to be happy. I had to graduate from high school. Then I had to go to college. Then I had to graduate. But I am learning that there is no perfect moment. I can be happy right now and live my life. I need to enjoy the time that I have.

8. The need to be in control of everything.

I have learned that I cannot control everything, especially people. It’s just not something I can do. I don’t have the power. And once I stopped feeling like I needed to be in control, I was so much happier. People are going to do what they want. All I can do is control how I respond to that.

9. Relying on the validation of others.

The need to be validated and fulfilled by others caused some major problems for me. Because it never happened. So once I realized that I could live my life on my own with no validation from anyone, I felt so much happier. Because I was making decisions for myself and figuring out what I want.

10. Worrying what others think.

I still struggle with this because I am not perfect. But I also know that I can’t worry too much. There will always be someone who doesn’t like what I’m doing or what I have. But I can’t let that be the deciding factor. Because if I want to be happy, I have to drown out the noise and just be me.

It’s difficult. I will admit it. And it may take time. But I challenge and encourage you to work on it. Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did.
