Hey guys! Welcome back. There is no doubt that one of the worst characteristics in a person is an inflated ego. You know. Those people who are way too confident in themselves. Well the truth is, we all have a problem with our egos sometimes. There are times when we really let our ego take over and control our lives. So I wanted to share signs of this so you can see if your ego is running the show. If it is, you know that there is a way to prevent that in the future and you can work on these things. So here are some signs that your ego is controlling your life.

1. Nothing is ever good enough.

When your ego takes over, you start thinking that nothing is ever good enough. And I don’t mean that you are working on something and you want it to be perfect so you keep going until you think it’s perfect. I mean your living situation, people in your life, the way you live. None of it is every good enough. You have really unrealistic expectations for everything in your life because you think everything needs to be the way you want it to be or it’s not worth anything.

2. You always have to be right.

I think this is something a big majority of us struggle with. We always have to be right in every situation. It is difficult for us to admit we were wrong. However, if you are not working on that and trying to get better, your ego is controlling your life. If you don’t see anything wrong with the way you are acting towards other people, your ego may very well be in control. It’s about learning that you are not perfect and sometimes you make mistakes. It’s about admitting your faults.

3. You are overwhelmed by stress.

If your ego is running the show, you will always be stressed. It’s not an easy thing to understand because sometimes we are just stressed. But if you are always stressed it may be because you think you have to do everything. You can’t delegate tasks or you struggle with asking for help. Not wanting to ask for help is a big sign that you are letting your ego control your life and you aren’t willing to admit that you can’t do everything on your own without help.

4. Life is not fun anymore.

Life tends to stop being fun when your ego takes control. Your ego may lead you to believe that life is not about having fun. It is about accomplishing as much as you can and being absolutely perfect. It’s about making sure that everything is right and that you are working towards the future. You find that you can’t have fun or enjoy yourself because you are convinced that you shouldn’t.

5. You can’t accept defeat.

No one is perfect and sometimes we fail. That’s just a part of life. However, if you find it difficult to accept failure or defeat, you may have an issue with your ego. If you have a hard time letting go when things don’t go the way you planned them, your life is being controlled in a much more negative way than you may think. It’s important to work on accepting that you are human and you are not perfect.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Let us know in the comments how you have overcome any of these signs. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!

Nice post! This actually resonates with me. Lol. I have felt this way a number of times (especially the stress and refusing to delegate parts), but thankfully I learnt to remove myself from the situation and evaluate from the outside.
