Hey guys! Welcome back. Today I wanted to talk to you about some not so great habits that you should give up before you leave college and enter into the “real” world. These are habits that I think most of build up when we are in college and we get by, but they won’t really benefit us outside of college. So I am going to share with the habits you should work to get rid of before you graduate.

I will be the first to admit that I procrastinate way too much. It hasn’t really hurt me too much in the past four years, but I know it won’t do me any favors when I leave. Procrastination is one of the worst habits we struggle with and if we don’t work to let go of it now, it can really hurt us later on.

Partying too hard.

I am not a party person, however, I know that college is the prime time for partying and going out every weekend. So before college ends, it is really important to get out of that phase. Not that you can’t go to parties when you get out of college, but it’s a little more difficult when it comes to having a professional career.

Playing hooky.

Playing hooky and skipping class is something I have done my fair share of times. So I think it is really important to get out of that because playing hooky too many times when you have a job can end in you not having a job anymore. So I think it’s important to start working on that now.

Doing the bare minimum.

With everything we have going on in college, it is really easy to just do the basic stuff and move on to the next thing. And maybe you can do that when you leave college and enter a job. However, that is not likely to help you move up or help you stand out. It’s important to work to do more than what is asked of you as much as you can.

Taking on too many responsibilities.

On the flip side of that, it’s important to learn how many responsibilities is too many responsibilities. You are only one person and you only have so much time. So it’s important to learn how to say no and recognize when you have enough on your plate. Otherwise, you will burn out and that won’t benefit anyone.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Let us know in the comments the hardest habit you have to break. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!

  1. I procrastinated so much in college! I regretted it every time I had an essay or big assignment due at midnight and would wait to do it the day of. Love these tips!

    1. I can relate to that. I have been much better about not procrastinating, but sometimes it is so hard.
