Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are having a great week so far. Today I wanted to open up about a few mistakes that I made this year. These are very real things that I think a lot of people struggle with, so I wanted to open up about them. As I began reflecting on 2019 I realized that there were a few things that didn’t go the way I had hoped they would, and most of it is my fault. So I think it’s important to open up and share that because I want you all to know that you aren’t alone and you aren’t the only one struggling. I’m out here doing the best I can as well. So here are some major adulting mistakes that I made in 2019.
1. I didn’t put my health first.
I didn’t focus on my health as much as I would have liked to. I did make some progress, but it wasn’t as much as a priority as I wish it would have been. I mean this in regards to my physical health, my mental health, and my spiritual health. It’s something that I really need to keep working on in the future. I’m not perfect, but I really want to continue making progress and moving forward.
2. I confused “alone” with “lonely”.
I went through a period this year where I was alone. I was pretty much on my own. But I confused that with being lonely. I wasn’t actually lonely at all, I just thought I was. And that led to a major life event that ended pretty badly. So I learned that just because I am alone doesn’t mean that I am lonely. It’s okay to be on your own and have time to yourself. You don’t always need someone right beside you.
3. I keep waiting for things.
Although I did make a lot of progress this year and I grew a lot, I still spent a huge part of the first half of the year waiting. I keep waiting for life to happen, but really it’s already happening. I just need to learn to make the most of it. I need to learn to start living and experiencing right now. I can’t wait for the perfect moment. I can’t wait until certain things happen. I just need to let go and live right now. So that is another thing that I will definitely be working on in the year to come.
