Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are having a great week. Today I wanted to talk about to-do lists and how to make them less overwhelming and how to keep up with them. These are all things that I have found work for me and I wanted to share them with you. Having a to-do list is extremely helpful if you actually use it, which is why I think this will be a beneficial post. So here are some ways that you can make your to-do list a little more bearable.
1. Make it easily accessible.
Have a to-do list that you will keep with you and have it out where you can see it. Whether it is on your phone, your computer, or a piece of paper, keep it where you can easily access it. Otherwise you may forget about it. Having it where you can easily get to it and see it helps you keep marking things off. The more you mark off, the more bearable the list becomes.
Keep your to-do list in categories. I like to have mine under school/assignments, blog related things, and daily tasks. It just keeps me organized. There are other categories, but those are my main categories. It helps me prioritize my to-do list and make sure I am focusing on the most important things first. Categorizing my to-do list helps me keep everything structured.
Like I said, categorizing my to-do list helps me prioritize all that I have to do. It usually starts with any assignments I have to do. I also have to prioritize any appointments or meetings I have since it’s not likely that I can change those. I like to make sure I am prioritizing my to-do list so I don’t accidentally forget something or lose track of what I need to be doing.
4. Include easy things.
I like to include some simple things that don’t really need to be on the to-do list. I do this because I like being able to cross it off the list after I do it. It helps motivate me and helps me keep going with other things. I include making my bed, cleaning up my room, taking a shower, and things like that. They are things that are going to get done anyway, but putting them on the list helps me stay motivated.
5. Include things for you.
I like to include things that are just for me. Maybe that is doing my nails. Maybe it’s getting a coffee. Or watching my favorite TV show. Whatever it is, I like to include something for me because it helps me incorporate self care into my daily life. It is also another thing that helps me stay motivated and keep up with what I need to do. It’s also just fun.
