Hey guys! Welcome back. 2019 is coming to an end in just a few days, so it’s time to start setting goals for 2020. I will be sharing my plan and my goals for 2020 at the start of the year, but today I wanted to give you some tips on setting the right goals for you. Because we don’t all have the same goals and it is important to set goals that mean something to you and that you want to achieve. Otherwise they are kind of pointless and will be forgotten after a couple of weeks. So here are some tips on how to set the right goals for yourself in the new year.
Learn a new skill.
We could all use new skills and it’s important to never stop learning. So whether you want to learn a new language, pick up a new hobby, learn to cook better, or something else you have wanted to learn, make it a goal in the new year to learn that skill. If it is something you want to do you are more likely to stick with it. So spend some time in the next few days to pick a skill you really want to learn.
Book all of your appointments.
If you know you have appointments that you have on a regular basis, such as doctors, dentists, haircut, etc. set them up in the beginning of the year! This way you know what time you need to take off of work. Take some time to schedule, or at least plan for, all of these appointments. Of course you may not get every time and date you want, but if you at least have an idea you will be ahead of the game.
Commit yourself to only focusing your attention on one thing at a time. Multitasking can put you in a bind and it can be difficult to get yourself out of it. You also never really get anything done and it takes a lot longer. Completing one task before moving on to the next task is a really great way to get your best work done and avoid feeling overwhelmed and scattered.
Create a budget.
Financial stress is one of the worst things to struggle with. Having a budget can help you avoid that as much as possible. Create a budget that allows you to have some plan as to where your money will be going. You can leave a little wiggle room for emergencies and extra expenses, but having a budget is a great way to start saving and avoid being too stressed about money.
Schedule time for yourself.
Having time for yourself is important for your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. So make sure you are planning time to spend by yourself doing the things you love or working on your personal growth. Start planning for it in the new year because it will be extra important after being around all the people in your life during the Holiday Season. Make sure your self care is a priority in whatever for that looks like.
These are just some ideas for goals in the new year. I hope you find this helpful. Please like it if you did. Thank you so much for stopping by! Have you thought about your goals for the new year?
