Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are having a great week. We are well into a new year and a new decade so it’s time to really start creating a better life for ourselves. And one of the ways that I am striving to do that is financially. I want to be smarter with my money and start focusing on saving and preparing for the future. So today I wanted to share with just five really simple ways that you can save money everyday. Some of these ways you won’t realize how much you are really saving until you look back. So let’s get started with the ways that you can save more money everyday.
1. Don’t impulse buy.
Trust me, I know this is easier said than done. But I think it’s really important to keep yourself from impulse buying as much as possible. I like to use a system that helps keep me from just buying everything I see. When I see something I like or want I wait two weeks and if I still want it and have the money I will buy it. But most of the time I forget about it or go back and they don’t have it. And ultimately that ends up saving me quite a bit of money.
2. Make lists.
When grocery shopping or really any kind of shopping where you are going for specific things, it is important to make lists. They help you know exactly what you need and exactly what you are going for. This keeps you from making purchases that aren’t planned or that you don’t need. You aren’t spending more money that you planned for and it keeps you from impulse buying as much.
3. Track your spending.
It’s a really great idea to track your spending habits because it helps you create a budget and see where you are overspending. It also helps you keep track of what you really need to spend money on and what you can cut back on. This will help save you money because you will be able to see all the times you spent money on things you didn’t really need and could have avoided.
4. Cut back on treats.
It’s not likely that you need a coffee from Starbucks everyday or that snack you get everyday at work. It’s also not likely that you need to treat yourself every weekend by spending money. Cutting back on treats helps you save money because you aren’t spending money on things that you don’t really need even though you can afford them. While a cup of coffee isn’t going to break you, having one everyday adds up.
5. Turn the TV off.
This will help you save money for a couple of reasons. First, if you aren’t watching it and you turn it off if saves electricity cutting down that bill. But also, turning off the TV prevents you from seeing advertisements that make you want to buy things you maybe don’t really need. This will help you save money because again, you aren’t as inclined to impulse buy.
And those are my five easy tips to help you save money everyday. Of course this doesn’t mean that impulse buying sometimes or having the occasional cup of coffee is something you can never do. It’s just going to save you money if you don’t do it all the time. Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did.
