Hey guys! Welcome back. If you have been around for a while you know that I am a routine junkie. I love having a routine and knowing what I am going to do every morning and every night. But sometimes doing the same routine over and over again can get a little boring and then it’s not something I really enjoy anymore. So I sometimes like to switch out some things or try something new. So today I wanted to give you ten ideas of ways you can refresh your morning routine.

1. Stretch for five minutes.

Stretching does your body a lot of good, so getting in five minutes in the morning can help wake your body up and help you start your day off in a much better way. So whether it is just some simple stretches, meditating, or doing some yoga, try stretching first thing in the morning and see how things change for you.

2. Plan and prepare.

Having a plan for the day is really important. Some people like to do it at night before bed and others like to do it in the morning. If you are looking to freshen up your morning routine, try planning your day and writing your to-do list in the morning before you start the rest of your day.

3. Wake up 15 minutes earlier.

Waking up 15 minutes earlier isn’t going to be too drastic, but it is going to give you a few extra minutes that you otherwise wouldn’t have. You can get your planning done, your stretching done, or anything else that you need to do that you find yourself not having the time for in the morning.

4. Have breakfast.

There is no better way to motivate yourself to get out of bed than to have a nice breakfast. So if you aren’t already eating breakfast every morning, find something you love that is going to fill you up and that you can enjoy. This adds some light in your morning that will help you get up.

5. Check something off your to-do list.

If you have some time and you are feeling extra motivated, check something off your to-do list. It could be something small like taking out the trash or something bigger like writing a blog post. Whatever you have time for in the morning. Just try to get at least one thing done so you don’t have to worry about it later.

6. Work out.

This is not everyone’s favorite, but I have learned from experience that it is way easier to get this done in the morning than it is at night. If I wait until night to do it I am already tired from work and I don’t really feel like doing anything. So if you struggle to get a work out in everyday, try starting them in the morning.

7. Drink a glass of water.

Water is one of the best things for your body, so having a glass in the morning is just that much better. Drinking water helps refresh your body and wake you up. It also gives you some energy that you need after you have just woken up. Water is crucial, but especially in the morning after sleeping all night.

8. Write down what you are grateful for.

Gratitude is one of the biggest keys of having a happier life, so writing down what you are grateful for every morning is going to help you have a much better day. Start your day with a grateful heart and you will be more prepared and more excited to keep going with that mindset the rest of the day.

9. Write down one goal for the day.

When you are planning your day and figuring out everything you need to do, write down one big goal that you want to accomplish that day. This will give you something to work on without overwhelming you with ten things you want to get done. Just start with one and see where it goes from there.

10. Send a message to someone you miss.

Start your day off talking to someone you haven’t talked to in a while. Let them know that you have been thinking about them and that you miss them. Not only will this help you connect and strengthen your relationships, but it will also help them start their day on a more positive note knowing that you were thinking about them.
