Hey guys! Welcome back. The colder months can be really harsh on our skin, especially if you already have dry skin. So having smooth and soft skin is pretty difficult during the Winter. And that is why I am here today to share with you five ways that you can combat that dry skin and have healthier looking and feeling skin. These are tips that I have learned that help me, so hopefully they work for you as well!

1. Moisturize.

Moisturizing is important all times of the year, but it is especially important during the Winter months. It is best to get a thicker moisturizer that won’t crack under the pressure of the cold air. Moisturize in the morning and the evening so your skin is getting as much moisture as it can. The cold air dries out your skin faster, so it’s important to moisturize as much as you can to keep that barrier.

2. Warm showers and baths.

Hot showers and baths are great for relaxing, but they aren’t great for your skin especially in the Winter. The hot water opens your pores making them more available for germs and the cold air leading to you getting a common cold or the flu. So when you are taking a shower just remember that having warm water is better that water that is too hot.

3. Body scrubs.

Exfoliating your skin is super important. It helps remove the dead skin cells and the dry skin that irritates your skin and leaves you feeling itchy. It also helps remove the germs and stuff you don’t want lingering in your pores. There are so many out there that contain natural ingredients, or you can make your own at home. Regardless, adding some lavender oil is an added benefit.

4. Drink water.

One of the best things you can do for yourself is drink water. It helps hydrate you from the inside out. So your skin starts looking and feeling better. Drinking more water helps you have a much healthier glow from within. It’s also just great for your body in general. So remember to drink as much water as you can because it will also help combat any sickness that you don’t want.

5. Face masks.

Face masks are super important in the Winter. Whether you are getting one that will help exfoliate your skin and leave it feeling soft and smooth or getting one that will help you glow and look super healthy, face masks are key. They will help you combat the dryness that the cold air causes and they are great for helping you relax. So find your favorite because there are so many to choose from!
