Hey guys! Welcome back. We all know that when you apply for a job, or even some colleges, you have to submit a resume and often a cover letter. This helps the employer get a sense of who you are, what kind of past experiences you have, and why you would be a good fit for them. It doesn’t tell them everything, but it should give them enough to tell whether or not they should consider you.

So why shouldn’t we give resumes and cover letters to the people we are dating? It may sound a bit silly and strange, but if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. The cover letter tells why you want to date the person and a little background information on you. The resume tells your most recent relationship, the qualities you have, and anything you think they need to know about you going into the initial meeting.

I think dating resumes should absolutely be a thing because they help the other person have a better understanding of who you are. It also gets all of the obvious and boring questions out of the way so you can get into the more interesting stuff earlier on. The person you are trying to date will be able to tell more about you based on your resume and cover letter. Their resume and cover letter will also give you a chance to decide if you really like them. It gives you both a chance to have a snapshot of the other person.

Dating resumes also allow you to reflect on who you are as a person and on your own past experiences. It forces you to sit down and look back on your relationship history and what kind of person you are in a relationship. It gives you a unique opportunity to figure out what you need to do differently in a new relationship and the kind of person you want to be moving forward. And while I will admit it sounds a bit strange, it also has a lot of value and could be a good thing.

I realize that it is probably very unlikely that dating resumes and cover letters will ever be a thing, at least not in the foreseeable future. However, Valentine’s Day is coming up and I can’t think of a better time to reflect on your dating and relationship history. So if you are looking to have a little laugh, take some time to write your own dating resume, even if you never give to anyone. You might be surprised at what you find.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Let us know your thoughts in the comments. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
