Hey guys! Welcome back. If you have been into makeup or love all things beauty, then you are going to really relate to this post. Today I am going to share ten signs that you might just be a beauty junkie. Of course, there are more, but these are the biggest ones that come to my mind when I think of beauty obsessed because I am definitely one of those people.

1. You struggle to distinguish between wants and needs.

Do I need another foundation? No. Do I want to try it anyway? Absolutely. If you love makeup like I do then you know exactly what I am talking about here. We struggle to figure out if we really need a product or if we just want it. And we are constantly trying to justify our purchases.

2. You have multiples of every product.

You have several blushes, lipsticks, bronzers, eyeshadow palettes, and more. You have so many products that you could probably make it as a freelance makeup artist. You find no shame in having options and embrace the idea of having any product you could possibly need at any given moment.

3. It seems impossible to run out of anything.

You have so many foundations that you don’t think you will ever need to buy another foundation. And that’s not altogether a bad thing. You have so much makeup that you are constantly giving products away and throwing away expired makeup because you buy it faster that you use it all up.

4. You constantly have dirty makeup brushes.

One of my absolute least favorite things to do is wash my makeup brushes. So mine are usually always dirty. But if you are beauty obsessed like me, you know the struggle of always having dirty brushes because you don’t use one brush for one color all the time. You dip into lots of colors which creates a mess.

5. Buying a product just because of the packaging.

I am extremely guilty of this. When the Wet n’ Wild Photo Focus foundation first came out I bought it just because it has a spatula. I ended up loving the foundation, but it still seems crazy that it was the packaging that really drew me in. And I do that all the time with so many products.

6. Buying products because your favorite beauty blogger recommended it.

I watch a ton of beauty influencers on YouTube and I follow them on Instagram. And there have been many products in my collection that I have bought because one of them recommended it. In fact, that’s how my makeup collection started. I would say about 90% of my makeup collection came from recommendations.

7. You have a huge collection of brushes.

You have a lot of brushes because you don’t like to clean them. I’m the same way. In fact, you might even have some brushes that you only use on specific shades. Like I have a brush that is simply for blue eyeshadow because it’s the one color that won’t look good mixed with other shades.

8. You have a lot of trial and error.

When you are getting ready for a night out or you are getting ready for something else, you probably have times where you have to take your makeup off and start over. It happens when you get to a point where you like things a specific way or you want to recreate a look that you just can’t get down.

9. People think you wear makeup to impress people.

To people who aren’t beauty obsessed it can be hard to think of just wearing makeup for the sake of wearing it. People always think you are doing it to impress someone else or get someone’s attention. And that is one of the drawbacks of wearing makeup and wanting it to look good all the time.

10. You don’t have just one go-to look.

Some people use the same products everyday and do the same look everyday. And that’s fine if it works for them, but you know it doesn’t work for you. You rarely do the same look twice unless you are really short on time and just throw something on. But your everyday look probably changes quite a bit.

  1. I feel like I used to be like this but in recent times I’ve just stopped buying makeup unless it’s essential which is honestly saving me a lot of money!

  2. This is so true.. I have recently changed my perspective and am trying to be really careful with my purchases. I used to hoard so much and buy makeup mainly for its beautiful packaging (hardly would use it!) but I’m becoming more aware and careful these days x
