Hey guys! Welcome back. No matter what you do, where you are, or what kind of job you have, when Sunday night rolls around, it is no joke. Those scary and sad feelings come in hard no matter where you are in your life. Even if you had a fun and relaxing weekend, the transition back into reality can be tough. But in an effort to take back your Sunday nights and be a little less scared, here are some tips on how you can prepare for the week ahead, starting on Sunday nights!
Spend some time with your calendar.
I love feeling organized. I have my planner and two calendars that I use. I time block and I’m always making sure that I give myself plenty of time. So I actually really look forward to spending time with calendar at the end of every week. I always like to know what I have going on that week and what I need to be planning and preparing for. And those 20 to 30 minutes that I spend helps me feel more calm and prepared going into the week.
Clean out your purse.
I am always amazed at how much stuff I accumulate throughout the week that ends up in my purse. I always end up with things like gum wrappers, hair ties, and receipts, and I definitely don’t want to carry those things into the next week. So I like to take a few minutes on Sunday to clean it out and only put back the things I know I will need heading into a new week.
Do something meaningful.
I like to do this because it helps me spend time with myself and just enjoy that time. I feel like I am able to reconnect and have that quality time. So whether it is working on a project, doing a workout, or even just reading a book, I like to do something that is meaningful for me that I don’t get a chance to spend a ton of time on during the week. There’s nothing like recharging your batteries on a Sunday evening.
Review your goals.
I can’t tell you how much my life changed when I started reviewing my goals at the end of every week. I like to track my progress, figure out if I’m heading in the right direction, and just thinking about what is really important to me. I like to review and reflect because it helps me stay on the right path and make sure that I am keeping up with what I have set for myself.
Go to bed early.
Just do it. You know you want to. You know it’s good for you. You know you need that sleep. So just do it. Go to bed early. The best way to start a new week off the right way is by getting enough sleep. You will have a more clear mind and a more peaceful mind. It will help you think, feel, and act your very best. Really there are no reasons not to go to bed early on a Sunday night.
