Hey guys! Welcome back. Today I wanted to open up to all of you and share a little tidbit about myself that you may not know. I keep getting comments and messages that you guys love learning more about me, so this is a big part of me that I felt inclined to share with you. Something that you may not have known about me is that I would like to someday be a foster parent and possibly adopt children.

I have never really felt called to have my own children. In fact the whole idea of pregnancy, labor, and birth really terrifies me. However, I do still want to have children. I have always felt that there are so many children in the United States alone, but also around the world, that don’t have homes. So I want to be able to provide some kids with that opportunity. I want to share my home with children who don’t have it.

I love helping other people and I genuinely believe that one of the ways that I can do that is by providing a home to children who were given up by their parents. I want to be able to give them love and support that they may not have had before. It’s always been really important to me to give help where I can and this is just one of many ways that I feel I can do that. It’s a really big passion for me.

I really feel as though I have the compassion and skills needed to be a foster parent. And even though I have never been a parent before, I do have some instincts and some knowledge on what to and what not to do. And I see the value in helping provide children with a safe place to call their own. I am also open to learning new things and picking up on the skills I need to have in order to be a successful parent.

One of my biggest goals in being a foster parent will be to create a comfortable space from someone who maybe hasn’t had that in the past. Especially someone older in their teen years. Teenagers are often left out of foster homes because parents would rather have younger children. So it would be my goal to be accepting of any child no matter their age, gender, or race.

I realize that my foster parent journey might not begin for quite a while, but I wanted to share this with you. It is something that is heavy on my heart and that I feel called to do someday. And I know when the time is right I will be able to do just that. I know when it’s time, the opportunity will present itself and I will be ready. Until then I will continue working on myself in hopes that I can be a better parent.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Do you have a goal in life you would like to achieve one day? Let us know in the comments what it is! Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!

  1. I would also love to be a foster parent or adopt someday because there are so many kids who are in dire need of a loving home. I would also like to have a couple of my own but it’s been my dream to do that sort of thing:) I hope you’re able to do this!

I also wanted to be a foster parent and adopt from foster care but never wanted my own children. I did it! Becoming a foster parent and then adopting our foster son was the most fun, amazing thing I’ve ever done. ☺️
