Hey guys! Welcome back. It is officially hot Summer weather time and one drawback of that is it’s really hard to wear makeup because it will just melt off. So today I wanted to share some tips that will help you beat the heat and still wear makeup when you want to. Summer can be brutal and it’s so much worse when you take the time to do your makeup and it just melts right off. So here are my tips for helping your makeup last during these hotter months.

Prime Time.

Prime is important no matter what time of year it is, even if you just use a moisturizer to prime. But it’s super important in the Summer months when you want to wear makeup. The primer you use will not only act as a barrier between your face and any makeup you put on, but it will also give your makeup something to cling to helping your makeup last a bit long. Bonus points if you get a primer that has SPF in it.

Ace Your Base.

The next step is to find really great base products. If you choose to wear foundation, find one that is waterproof and sweat resistant. It will help last through the heat a lot better than one that’s not. Find a foundation that says it lasts for 18-24 hours because even though you won’t need your foundation to last that long, it has a better chance of surviving the heat.

Avoid Powders.

You would think you would want to use powder to mattify your face and make it last longer. But the truth is, powder will only add to the product on your face making it hotter. Also, powder only works if it is dry. Once it gets wet it breaks up and looks cakey. You can use powder to set your base, but don’t go overboard. And don’t try to keep applying it every time you sweat.

Setting Spray Is Your Summer Best Friend.

Since powders aren’t really a go in the hotter months, setting spray will be your new best friend this Summer. Find a setting spray you know and love that will help your makeup beat the heat. Lock in your makeup and get a nice facial refresher with a setting spray. This way you are less likely to have to be worried about touch ups throughout the day. And instead of fixing your makeup with powder, you can just use a setting spray.

Use a waterproof mascara.

There is no worse look than when your mascara starts melting and it gets all over your eyes and face. Having a waterproof mascara can help you prevent that catastrophe and still wear mascara. Most of your favorite mascaras should have a waterproof option, but if not there are plenty of great waterproof mascaras that you can give a try. I promise it will be worth the investment.

And those are my makeup tips to help you beat the heat! Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did.
