Hey guys! Welcome back. I know for people my age (college and recent graduates), we have a lot of pressure placed on us by society and families to have everything figured out. We are supposed to have everything planned and be able to recite it at a moments notice. However, sometimes that’s just not the way things go. So today I wanted to share five things that you don’t have to have figured out at this point in your life.

1. Your dream job.

It’s okay if you still aren’t sure what you want your dream job or career to be. It’s okay to wait until you know for sure. As long as you get a job to stay afloat while you are searching, there is nothing wrong with waiting. There is no need to rush any life-altering decisions because of outside pressures. Do what you need to do right now and what is best for you.

2. A steady relationship.

As a college student or graduate you don’t need to be in a relationship right now. If you are, that’s great, but if you aren’t you don’t need to add pressure to yourself to find the perfect person. It’s okay to just focus on yourself and do the things that make you happy. You have plenty of time to be with someone else. You don’t have to have a steady partner right now.

3. Your forever home.

You probably won’t be buying a house anytime soon and that’s okay. It’s okay if you aren’t sure what city you want to put down roots in right now. If you are working towards that goal and trying to figure things out, that’s all anyone can ask of you. Just know that it’s okay to be unsure because this is new and uncharted territory for you. Take things one step at a time.

4. Starting your own business.

With so many people starting their own businesses and working for themselves, it can be easy to get caught up in that mentality and wonder if it’s the right path for you. And it’s okay to think about it and even consider it. But if you aren’t sure, you don’t have to worry about it. You don’t have to do something that you don’t really want to do just because other people are doing it. Do what feels right for you.

5. Your purpose in life.

Sometimes our purpose in life is very clear to us, and other times it is not. But when it comes to not really knowing what your purpose is, it’s really crucial to know that you are not alone. There are plenty of people who aren’t sure what their purpose is and what they want to do. And there are some people who do know but are just too scared to pursue it.

So true. Sometimes you will never have all these things align at once. I strive for progress, not perfection.
