Hey guys! Welcome back. I have been obsessed with skin care since I started watching beauty gurus talk about it on YouTube four years ago. Since then I have been trying new products, keeping up with my own skin care routine, and advocating very heavily about just how important taking care of your skin is. It is something that I have seen the benefits of in my own life and want others to have the same experience. So today I am going to share with you some of the things you can do to truly perfect your own skin care routine regardless of your skin type.
Remove your makeup.
I cannot stress how important this step is, no matter what the rest of your skin care routine is. Even if you don’t do anything else, taking off your makeup before you skin is crucial. I don’t recommend stopping here, but if you don’t do anything else, at least do this. Take your makeup off using a liquid or balm remover. I don’t recommend makeup wipes because they aren’t great for your skin, they don’t really get everything off, and they are bad for the environment. I do recommend investing in the Makeup Eraser if you want just one product.
Wash your face.
After you take your makeup off, the next step is to wash your face. There are so many options out there both drugstore and high end for every different skin type. It might take some searching to find the one that is best for you. But it’s important to wash your face and remove any dirt, sweat, and germs that have been on your face all day. I highly recommend finding a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser because that will do the best on your skin and is less likely to irritate it.
Apply a serum.
I am fairly new serums and their benefits, but since using them I have seen an incredible difference in the look and feel of my skin. Since I have dry skin I use serums that contain hyaluronic acid, but there are serums for different needs and skin types. It helps moisturize my skin and keeps it feeling fresh all day. Using serums has also helped my skin look a lot brighter for a longer period of time.
Apply eye cream.
I try to let the serum sit for a few minutes and dry a little before I continue, but once that time is up I go in with an eye cream. I started using eye creams a couple of years ago because my under eyes were super dry and dark. It was difficult to apply makeup and my skin just didn’t look as good. So I started using eye creams that were brightening, illuminating, and moisturizing. My favorite one is from E.L.F. Cosmetics because it does all the things I need it to and it’s only like $10.
Moisturize the rest of my face.
I wait and let the eye cream set while I brush my teeth before I go in with moisturizer because I like to let the eye cream sink in a bit so I’m not accidentally smearing it on the rest of my face with my moisturizer. But I truly believe moisturizer is important no matter what skin type you have. We lose so much and it’s really important to find one that works for your skin type that is going to give your skin hydration and look and feel its absolute best.
