Hey guys! Welcome back. It has been a while since I did a personal growth update and I felt as though today was the perfect time to share one with you. So as many of you may know, personal growth and development have been something that I have been striving for pretty much for the past two years or so. I have really devoted so much of my time to doing the things I need to do to overcome a lot of the barriers that have held me back in the past. So let’s deep dive into my personal growth journey for the past month.
June was a whirlwind for me. So much happened. My life was turned upside down. I lost so much. I ended my relationship. I found a new apartment. I made certain decisions about my future that I’m not quite ready to share yet, but it’s all coming. So much happened in the past five weeks that it’s hard to try to summarize it all in one post. But I am going to do my best. I am going to share with you the highs and the lows of my personal growth journey, especially over the past month.
In June, I spent a ton of time creating content and working on future plans for the blog, YouTube Channels, and podcast. I love creating content so it was a really great way for me to escape a little bit and really get things ready for the next few months. I have so many exciting things planned and I can’t wait to share them with you. Taking this time to create content has allowed me the opportunity to sit back and reflect on what you guys love to see and want to see more of. So I looked back on trends and even did a reader survey to ask you what you wanted.
I also took on more coaching clients in June which was really fun. I love getting to chat with you guys and help your own platforms and businesses. And in June I started coaching for free and I am so glad that so many of you took advantage of that. I love being able to share my knowledge and also learn things from you. It helps me be a better blogger by being able to chat with you and hear your ideas and thoughts as well. So June was a big month in terms of coaching and I loved every minute of it.
Starting July was a unique opportunity for me. I love this because it’s kind of an interesting story. So earlier in June I bought a planner and the planner started in July. What I decided to do with that is create a clean slate. I figured with a new planner I could use that as an opportunity to start over and refocus on what I wanted my goals for 2020 to look like. So much has happened in 2020 to cause everyone’s goals to shift a little bit, so I took this opportunity to start over and regroup.
June and July are big months because I am moving in just a little over a month. I am super excited, but it is really overwhelming. I have never moved quite in this capacity before, so it’s not something I am super skilled at. But I am working on getting the things that I need and also getting everything together to be packed and ready to move. Overall, I am excited to move and I am excited to meet new people and start a new chapter of life. It seems so surreal that it’s happening, but it’s really exciting.
Something that I have been working on this past month or so is having hobbies and interests outside of the blog and business. I get so wrapped up in what I am doing and planning for the future that it’s sometimes really difficult to step away and focus on something else. Sometimes that is a good thing because it means I love what I am doing, but I have found if I spend all my time working on content and coaching that my self-worth starts to be defined by what I am spending my time working on. So I decided I needed to have hobbies and interests outside of my platforms.
One of those has been reading. I have really enjoyed reading this past month. I have talked about it here and on other platforms, but reading allows me to step away from everything in my life and just, well, read. Reading is something that I have always loved and being able to have that time to just sit and read everyday is a phenomenal experience. So I have really been taking the time everyday to sit and read. I love personal development books because not only am I stepping away from work, but I am also working on growing as a person.
Another hobby that I picked up is looking at interior design. Now that I am moving to my own apartment and I have all the control on designing my bedroom and bathroom, I have spent time looking at different decor ideas, color schemes, and organization. It’s been so much fun deciding what I was going to do with my new space. I also have canvases and paint which I am going to use to create artwork for my new apartment. So that will be a really good way to step away and really focus on something else.
Something else that I am considering is taking some time off. I might prewrite some blog posts to go up and then take a vacation from everything else the week of my move. I haven’t confirmed this or anything, but it is something that I am considering. I think it might be nice to step away for a few days and it will also allow me to devote myself completely to settling in. Also, if I haven’t found a job by then I will need to focus on that. But my goal is to have a lead on a job before I move like I did last time. But taking a week or so off is something that I have been thinking about. It might be a nice break and it will allow me to focus all of my time and energy on moving and settling in. Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
And the last thing that I want to mention is my new Impossible Goal. Having an impossible goal is something that I wanted to have because it gives me something to work towards. Because before the last couple of weeks I didn’t really have anything specific that I was working towards. So my Impossible Goal is to reach 5,000 followers by next July. Is it a huge goal? Yes. But that’s kind of the point. And now I have something that I have to work towards that is specific. So when I am working on blog and business stuff I can make sure I am doing things that can help my following grow.
So, that was a long one. If you made it all the way to the end leave me a comment below. Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you in the next one!
