Hey guys! Welcome back. Since we are still living in pretty strange times, I wanted to share with you another post for ideas on how to cope. But, with an added twist, it’s all about things I do or would do on my perfect night in. I am a very introverted person as it is, so I cherish my nights alone spending quality time with myself. But I also enjoy nights in with other people. It just depends on what is going on. So for the purpose of my absolute perfect night in, it’s just going to be me alone for this one. If you would like a separate post where I talk about my perfect night in with a partner, friend, etc. let me know in the comments! But for now, let’s get into my perfect night in by myself.
Set the mood.
This may come as a surprise to many of you, but the very first thing I like to do before I can really start enjoying my down time is clean up. In a normal point of life, not necessarily when I’m in the middle of moving. But I like to have a clean space and when my space is cluttered I feel very anxious a lot of the time. So I like to clean up and at least clear out the room I will be spending the majority of my time in. I also grab a blanket, try to create a nice temperature, and have as few lights on as possible.
Grab a drink.
I’m not a huge alcoholic beverage kind of girl, so usually I literally just grab any kind of drink that I’m feeling in the moment. I don’t really have a go-to. But it’s always important that I have something to drink and not have to worry about running back into the kitchen all the time. So I make sure I grab my drink ahead of time so I know that I am prepared. I also try to plan my nights in by myself as early as possible so I know to grab a drink at the store if I want something different.
Watch a movie.
I must admit, I’m not a huge movie watcher. Not by myself anyway. But on a night in when I’m just relaxing I like to sit down and watch a movie. Maybe it’s a movie favorite that I have seen ten times before or maybe it’s a new movie I haven’t seen yet. Regardless, I love sitting down for a couple of hours and spending time just watching a movie. It’s something that because I don’t do it often, it really relaxes me when I actually do allow myself that time.
Time for pampering is hard to come by when you have as much going on as I do. But it’s really important that when I do have one of these nights by myself that I have that time to really pamper myself and relax. I like to take a nice bubble bath, exfoliate, spend a little extra time on my hair, and do all the things I don’t really have time for on other days. I also like to take some time to do my nails if they haven’t been done in a while and really need some love.
Have a sweet treat.
I love baking and I love having sweet treats. But it’s not necessarily something I do everyday. So on my nights in when I am by myself, I like to have a sweet treat. I bake something I love or try a new recipe. I love taking the time to enjoy the process and really just be in my element. It makes me feel good and puts me in a really happy head space. It just helps me get away from all the stress and responsibility of everyday life and just do something I love.
