Hey guys! Welcome back. The past year of my life has been a roller coaster. From going through break ups, moving multiple times, graduating college, and an entire pandemic that the whole world is facing, this year has been full of change. And because of all of that, and more, I have looked very closely at my life and what I am most grateful for during all of these times of hardship and uncertainty. And today I am going to focus solely on the friendships that I am lucky enough to have and the people who continue to make the hard times a little bit easier just by being there for me through it all. So today I am going to share with you why I am so incredibly thankful for these friendships, especially right now.
They remind me that people can be kind.
There has always been a lot of negativity in my life and people who aren’t always super kind. However, my friends are wonderful reminders that there are good people in the world. They share their kindness and help me see that the world isn’t always a scary or bad place. They inspire me to continue to be kind even though people aren’t always the nicest to me in return.
They are supportive.
Life is hard and it’s even harder when you don’t have a good support system. I am so thankful that I have friends who support me and encourage me to go after the things that I want. Even the things that seem impossible at the time. There have been many people in my life who have told me that I can’t do something or that I won’t do something, but my friends are always there to remind me that I am capable.
They are always there.
Even when I feel the most alone, I know that there is always someone that I can reach out to. In my darkest moments there is always someone there to help me get through. And for that I am extremely thankful because I don’t know where I would be without these people. It’s nice to know that I have someone who will be there for me when I need it the most.
The remind me that I have a place in the world.
My whole life I have spent wondering if I even have a place in the world. I feel like there has always been at least one person in my life making me feel like I don’t. But my friends remind me that I do have a place in the world and that I do belong here. It’s just that some people don’t have a place in my life and that’s okay.
They enjoy spending time with me.
There aren’t many people I know who would go out of their way to spend time with me or just simply be there for me. But I know that I can always count on my friends to want to do things with me or just spend time with me. No stress, no constant questioning, no negative opinions. Just good quality time spent chatting and laughing.
They help me feel less lonely.
This may not come as a huge surprise considering the points I have previously mentioned, but my friendships help me feel less alone. It’s easy right now with the state of the world for us to feel alone. I have definitely struggled with not feeling like I can really connect to anyone. But my friends help me feel a lot less lonely and love getting to just chat with them.
They keep me sane.
Without my friendships I really don’t know what I would do. There aren’t many other people I trust to pour my heart out to and share how I’m feeling because they either won’t care or will judge me. So having friends who will listen and be there helps me stay sane and have someone that I can share with.
