Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are having a great week! I get asked all the time about how I stay balanced and keep up with everything that I am doing, especially when I am working. So today I wanted to give a more in-depth response to that question. But before we get into that I want to say that I don’t have it all figured out. Everything in my life isn’t as balanced as it should be. I don’t always get everything done that I need to. However, I do have some habits and practices that help me have more balance than I otherwise would. And that is what I am going to share with you today. So here are the five biggest ways that I find balance in my life.
1. Stick to a schedule.
When it comes to content, work, or any area of my life that is a constant, I find that it is absolutely essential that I keep a schedule and stick to it as much as possible. It just helps my days flow better and relives a lot of the stress I would have if I was trying to keep up with everything on the daily. So when it comes to creating more balance in my life and making sure I am making time for everything, I always like to have a schedule that I can refer to when needed.
2. Carve out time for myself.
It’s not always easy to prioritize self care or make sure that you are doing things for yourself. Especially when you’re like me and have what seems like a million things going on. But I am a firm believer in the fact that you cannot pour from an empty cup, therefore, I make time for myself as much as possible. I try to have at least some time in the morning and the evening that is just for me. It helps me reset and recharge so I can continue to be my best self in other areas of my life.
3. Stick to a budget.
When it comes to money and finances, I’m no expert. I never had anyone really talk about money with me or teach me how to budget or plan out my money and expenses. So I’m pretty much doing what I feel is best in this area. But I feel like for the most part I’m pretty good at sticking to a budget. I never go over my limits and I always try to save as much as I can. Sometimes it’s not easy, but this is one area of life that I need to feel secure in as much as possible.
4. Ask for help when I need it.
Asking for help does not come naturally to me. I have never been one to ask for help because I fear rejection or am just too afraid. But the truth is, no one can go through life alone. No one can handle all of their burdens, problems, and daily lives alone. We need people. We need a support system, no matter what that looks like. So I have started to get better at asking for help when I need it and letting other people in because I know I can’t go through life completely alone.
5. Give myself grace.
One of the most important things I do to keep a balance in my life is to give myself grace when I fall short or don’t get everything done all the time. No one is perfect, and it’s okay to slip up sometimes. Putting pressure on myself or making myself feel guilty won’t make anything better, so I have learned the significance and the overall benefits of giving myself grace. I try to be as patient with myself as possible and not worry so much about having it all together all the time.
