Hey guys! Welcome back. Throughout my life there have been many moments when my faith has been tested. I have struggled to have faith and trust that God is with me many times. So if you are also struggling in this area, just know, you are not alone. We have all been there. It’s natural to have moments where you question things and struggle to see the purpose that God has in putting you through what you’re going through. It’s also difficult to trust God when you don’t feel like your prayers are being answered. But I am here to tell you that sometimes God not answering your prayers is for the best. Sometimes He has something even better planned and if you got what you prayed for that something better wouldn’t be able to be a part of your life. So today I am going to share with you some ways that you can continue to trust God even in the moments when you feel like He isn’t listening to you or hearing you.
Read The Bible.
This may sound obvious, but I think it’s super important and felt the need to include it. Because sometimes we need to hear the obvious things because when we are scared, sad, confused, or frustrated we sometimes get blinded and forget to do the most basic things. In this case, it is reading the Bible. The Bible is full of stories, people, and events where God worked absolute miracles. The Bible gives so many examples of what it means to trust God and why it is so important. So if you are struggling and you feel like what you want just isn’t coming your way, open up the Bible and read some of the stories. You’ll be surprised at how inspiring it is.
Ask for His help.
Again, this one is super obvious, but ask yourself if you have really prayed about what you are asking for it. And I don’t mean just ask God in a blanket prayer if you can maybe have something. But ask Him if it’s even His Will that you have what you are asking for. Ask Him to make whatever it is you are asking for the best that it can possibly be. Ask Him to bless you and protect you through your journey to find whatever it is you are looking for. Also, make sure you are not only talking to God, but also that you are listening to Him. People think their prayers aren’t being answered, but it’s sometimes because we talk but we never listen for a response. Sometimes God does talk back.
Choose to hold on.
Everyday we have a choice and that’s what it comes down to. Having faith and trusting God is by no means an easy thing. That’s something you will never hear me say. It’s difficult to have faith sometimes. But you have to choose to hold on because you know it will be worth it in the end. You know that having faith and trusting God will allow Him to remain in your life and continue to do amazing things for you and through you. So when you feel your faith starting to crumble, choose to hold on. Choose to believe that your faith will move mountains. Choose to keep God at the center of your life. I promise it’s worth it.
Let go of negativity.
One of the biggest things in my life that has caused to to struggle with faith and trusting God’s plan for me is all the negativity that I have allowed to remain in my life. I have struggled to hold on to hope that God can use me because people tell me that I can’t do things or make me feel like I’m not good enough. But the truth is, I am good enough because God made me this way. So when you find yourself struggling in your faith, take a look around and see if there is any negativity that you need to let go of. Whether it is relationships, habits, or things on the internet, let go of the things that are causing your faith to be shaken.
Write things down.
When God does something amazing in your life, write it down. When you feel God’s presence in your life, write it down. When you feel that God is doing something great in your life or in the life of someone around you, write it down. This way you have plenty of reminders of God’s faithfulness and power when you start to see your faith crack a little bit. These reminders will serve to help you keep your faith and see that God is always with you. But just because He is with you doesn’t mean He will always give you everything you want. It means He will give you what you need, even if it’s not pleasant for you at the time.
