Hey guys! Welcome back. I am because with the second part of my new blog series “Life Through My Eyes”. You guys seem to still be loving the first post I did about learning to forgive myself and I am so thankful for that. If you haven’t read that one I will link it here so you can go check it out. Today we are getting right back into it and I am sharing something that really has changed my life. I wanted to chat with you about how changing my focus and thinking about the long game has changed everything significantly for me and what focusing on the long game even means. Ultimately it’s different for everyone, but I am going to be sharing how it works for me and my life.

If you have ever stopped and thought about it, you probably realized at some point that there will never be a point in your life where things just stop coming at you. I always thought that someday I would have everything together and I would be able to just live freely. But as I got older I began to realize that things never really stop flying at you. So you really have to have a good grasp on the important things and really stick to what truly matters to you in your heart.

I know that everyday I have choices that I have to make. Some of them are small, and some of them are much bigger. But everyday, no matter what, there are always decisions to be made. And as time has gone on and I have grown as a person and learned more, I have begun to realize that what I really need to be focusing on is the long game. So what is the “long game”? To me the long game is not necessarily a destination, but rather the journey you take to live your best life and feel the most fulfilled. It is giving up comfort and taking on temporary struggle to ultimately get something you really want.

I have learned that the long game is really important to me because there are certain things I want and success I want to find that I can’t get if I don’t go on with the long game. It’s important for me to know that I am in it for the long haul and that I’m not giving up. The long game is a chance to really go all in on yourself and have faith. It is relevant to those everyday choices I was talking about. The long game is making the best decisions everyday, even the ones that might provide temporary discomfort, setbacks, or struggles.

I have learned in recent years that I can’t do everything. No matter how hard I try or what I do, I just can’t do everything. And you might be thinking that I should have already known that, but that’s just not what I was conditioned to believe. I have always been the kind of person that thinks they have to get everything done all the time right on schedule. But I have slowly started to grasp the concept that I cannot do everything and I should have to, Everyday I get to decide how I will spend my time, the people I will devote my attention to, and what I will be doing. But that doesn’t mean that literally everything has to get done. There are so many things that just don’t get done sometimes and that’s okay.

Another really important aspect of the long game that is crucial for me is the idea of being a part of something bigger. Whether that is through my career, relationships with people, or the idea of just making some kind of difference as often as possible means so much to me. And by focusing more on the long game and working through some issues now I am able to work towards making those things possible. I am able to contribute a more lasting impression on the world and that is a really big benefit of focusing on the long game and being intentional with all of my decisions.

Everyday I have to figure out which things I need to focus on that day. I have to make sure that I am trying to provide equal attention to all areas of my life. It is really difficult, but I have found that when it comes to the long game having a key focus is really important to keeping up with things and just being better overall. Everyday I try to focus on the things that matter the most to me that day. It’s important to be in the present, but it’s also important to focus on the long game and work towards as much as you can.

The long game is ultimately all about the bigger picture. It’s about how the choices you make today will affect you later on down the road. The long game isn’t always the most fun or the easiest. However, I do think it is the most rewarding and the most fulfilling. Sometimes the long game has to be put on hold for a bit while you focus on what you have in front of you, but in my own personal experience I am seeing the benefits of focusing on the long game more and more and doing my part to have a significant impact. The long game has helped me grow my confidence and see more of my value. Focusing on the long game has allowed for so much growth in my life.
