Hey guys! Welcome back. I think a common question that I ask myself is “Who Am I?”. It’s both a fair question and a very complicated answer. And to be completely honest, I don’t really know. I think I am very much still learning and growing into who I am. So while I do think it’s a very valid question, I don’t have all the answers. But that’s not really the point of this post. The point of this particular post is not to share with you that I have all the answers and know everything there is to know about myself. Instead, what I can do is talk to you about what I do know about myself and what I can share. So that’s what I am going to be doing today.
What makes me happy.
There are quite a few things that make me happy. Some of them are really big and some are small and simple things. But I really believe that they all matter and have equal importance. One of the biggest things that makes me happy is love. I love love. I love to be loved, I love to love other people, and I love when other people love each other. It just makes me happy. Laughing is another big thing that makes me happy (obviously you’re not laughing when you’re sad probably). But it really does just make my life better and it helps lift me up. Baking also makes me happy. I love creating anything really. It all brings me a lot of joy.
Relationships aren’t always picture perfect and they aren’t intended to be. No one will live up to every standard and expectation that we have in place. But I think it is really important to have a few non-negotiables that you know are important to you. These are things that are going to make or break the relationships with people you have in your life. And I have learned over the past few months that I really need some in my life. And one of the biggest ones is kindness. I can’t be around people who are rude just because they can be. Another one is growth. I need people in my life who want to grow and are open-minded. I can’t deal with the backward-minded people anymore.
How I deal with stress.
Not everyone reacts and deals with stress in the same way. But mine is definitely what works for me and I think it’s important for everyone to tap into whatever works best for them. But when I am feeling stress and I have too much going on what I like to do is just step away. It is incredibly difficult sometimes and I struggle with not wanting to keep going, but I know that sometimes what is best is to just step away and regroup. I get my head on straight and relax and then I come back to it when I feel more focused and prepared. It just keeps me from getting burned out and really not making and progress.
What kind of person I want to be.
I definitely want to be a successful person. And by successful I don’t mean rich. Personally, I don’t define success by the amount of money I have. For me, success is more about being able to stand on my own, live comfortably, and always keep progressing. I don’t think I will ever stop learning, but I think success comes from being content with where I am but always doing what I can to move forward. Success is not settling. I also want to do my best to be as kind and helpful to other people as I can be. The world is such a dark and heavy place sometimes and I want to provide as much joy and light as I can. I think that’s something we should all strive for.
What I’m good at.
Writing is definitely a strength. I love writing and I love getting to share my story with other people. I love that I have the opportunity and the platform to talk to all of you and inspire you. I strive to help you grow while I grow and pass on what I learn along the way. I am also really good at connecting with other people and showing compassion and empathy. I have learned that not everyone is great in that area, so I am definitely grateful that I am good in that area. It makes building solid relationships with others a lot easier and it gives me a good balance in other areas of life. But those are the two biggest things I am good at.
What I’m not so good at.
I’m not the most assertive person which does cause me some issues most of the time. I am not good at confrontation or telling someone that they have hurt me or bothered me in any way. I’m also not great at math which comes with it’s own set of problems (pun unintended). I am also not the most confident person ever which does set me back some. But as I continue to grow and be better I obviously work on these things that I am not great at. It’s not easy, but I believe that there is so much value in working on yourself and doing what you can to become the best version of yourself that you can.
I have some lofty goals in life, I’m not going to lie. And while I am not going to share all of them right now, I will say that there are several goals that have changed in the past few months. I used to think I had really good goals, but now that I have moved and started a new job and I’m starting to get settled in and everything, my goals and intentions have definitely changed. So I’m really excited to move forward and grow within my job, buy the house that I want, and hopefully launch off on some of these projects that are coming soon. I’m really looking forward to you guys being a part of all these and sharing the journey with you!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Let us know in the comments if there is something you know for sure about yourself that you would like to share. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you in the next one!
