Dear, amazing Love, Geeky Girl readers,
If you’ve been following for a long while, you’ll remember that I used to be a guest writer and then a staff writer for this website. I absolutely adored my job. I contributed multiple articles a week. I wrote about psychology, social issues, and advice. I even dabbled in less familiar-to-me topics like fashion and makeup. I enjoyed it more than I can describe.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of Sam and I’s control, I had to step away for quite a while. Covid-19. Life stressors. Family issues. Mental struggles. There was a lot that contributed to the decision.
During that period of time, I want you to know that I really missed writing for you all. I became so attached to the readers who would comment and send messages. You were a huge inspiration for me to share my voice. I felt like I could really be my authentic self in this community that Sam built. It was hard being away. To cope with the change, I spent a lot of time working on my mental health. I got back in therapy. I started exercising more. I’ve been learning to bake from scratch. I already knew how to cook, but I’ve been fine-tuning my skills and playing around with recipes. I became involved in protesting and pushing for positive social change in my community. While I didn’t want to have to leave Love, Geeky Girl, it actually ended up being a good thing that I spent time working on myself for a while. I’m in a healthier place than before.
NOW, GUESS WHAT?
As of this week, I will be returning as a staff writer. Situations have changed for the better. Sam and I could finally, feasibly make this happen. I have so many article ideas, topics I want to discuss, and I’m eager to get started. Hopefully, you folks are equally as excited.
Thank you to Sam for working hard to help me return.
Thank you to the subscribers that have stuck around this long.
Thank you to everyone who wished me well while I was away.
I love you guys!
Always and truly,
