Hey guys! Welcome back. It’s no shocker that 2020 has been one heck of a year and now that November is here it is even crazier. So I I know that many of us are feeling all kinds of feelings and some of us struggling a lot. So today I wanted to share with you some of the things I am doing to feel better and lift my spirits. Maybe this will inspire you in some way if you are feeling a bit down or if you are struggling for motivation and peace. Here are some things that I am doing to feel better during these difficult times.
Being vulnerable with you guys.
Being able to have this platform and share what I am thinking, feeling, and doing with all of you is really helpful for me. It makes it even better that many of you appreciate it and even ask for it. Being able to have the opportunity to be open and vulnerable helps me know that I am not alone and hopefully help you see that you are not alone either. Sometimes it is hard for me to know what to share and what not to share, but I have never felt that I couldn’t share something if I really wanted to. It gives me a great sense of peace knowing that I can confide in you guys.
Giving myself grace.
Sometimes I am hard on myself. I am my own worst critic. So when it comes to trying to find peace and feel better I know that I need to give myself grace. I am not a perfect person and I can’t do everything, but I do as much as I can. I also know that I need rest and to give myself breaks sometimes because a lot has happened this year. There have been so many changes and while they have all ended up working out there were times when I really wasn’t sure if I would be okay. It took a really big mental toll on me. So when I am feeling down I try to give myself grace and know that it will be okay no matter what.
Quality time with friends.
I got really lucky with the roommates I ended up with. I honestly couldn’t have asked for better people to live with. They are both very different and I connect with them differently, but I love that we can all come together and laugh, have conversations, and just spend time together. They always manage to make me feel better and lift me up when I am feeling down. So it’s nice that I have time to spend with them both together and individually. They have changed my life and made it so much better. I am truly thankful for how everything worked out.
Reading The Bible.
I haven’t always studied the Bible as much as should or as often as I would have liked. But recently I have been better about getting into the Bible and reading. I have learned so much and I have taken so much from the stories and the people I read about. It is not only useful, but it’s also just really interesting stories of how God used people, helped people, and changed people. It gives me hope and also helps build my faith and bring me closer to God. It helps me feel like I don’t have to be in control because I know that God is.
I used to do weekly planning and I still do for the most part, but recently I have really been focusing on daily planning because sometimes things change day to day that if I try to plan a week ahead things may change. So I try to do daily planning where I write out things I need to do, chores that need to be done, and my meals for the day. It helps me know exactly what I need to be prioritizing that day and what I need to make time for. It keeps me organized and prepared which is super important with everything I have going on.
Those are all the things that I am doing to feel good right now! Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
