Hey guys! Welcome back. I know that getting up in the morning can be extra tough, especially this time of year. For me, there are definitely days where I struggle and feel super unmotivated. However, there are some things that I have started doing to help give me that little push to get up in the morning and I thought I would share those with you today. Because I know when I have a big day ahead I need some little things to push me in the right direction and get me going. So these are the things I do in the morning when I need boost myself up!

Wake up at the same time everyday.

I don’t really have an issue with this since my body naturally wakes me up at the same time everyday, but I still think it’s important to get into the habit if you’re not already. I always have an alarm set for the same time everyday because it helps keep me in the routine and ensures that I start my day off in the same way everyday. Once your alarm goes off get out of bed. Don’t give yourself the opportunity to lay there and decide if you are going to get up because chances are you will decide to hit the snooze button instead of getting up and that will give you a rocky start to your day.

Make you bed.

It might not sound like much, but making your bed can have a huge difference on your day and how you feel. Especially since I started working from home, making my bed everyday has because a game-changer. My desk is right next to my bed so if I didn’t make it everyday I know I wouldn’t feel very put together and that can be a real struggle when I’m trying to do the best that I can at my job. Making your bed can also help you whether you work from home or not because it’s a small accomplishment in the morning that has a big impact.

Listen to a morning playlist.

There are just those songs that we love that really hit different in the morning. I highly recommend building a morning playlist if you don’t already have one. Music is powerful and has the ability to really transform our mood and energy. So having that playlist that you can turn on in the morning when you are getting ready and really setting the tone for the rest of your day is going to be a game-changer. We all have those songs that get our hearts racing and our blood flowing and that’s better than any cup of coffee you can have in the morning.

Get some fresh air.

If you have the opportunity to go outside in the morning, even if it’s just for a minute, a highly recommend. Fresh air helps wake the body up and if you can get some sunshine that can really help boost your mood and help you feel more prepared to start your day. It really is the little things here today guys. If you can’t go outside, try opening your window, even if it’s just for a few minutes, to let some fresh air in. And make sure you open your curtains or your blinds so you can have some natural sunlight coming through throughout the day.

Drink some water.

It goes without saying that it’s really important to hydrate in the morning. This is something that I have really started seeing the benefits of. Drinking water before I do anything ensures that I am not only hydrating, but also nourishing my body so I will feel more energized throughout the entire day. Of course I keep drinking water, but starting off my day with a bottle of water helps me know that I am starting off on the right foot and that I will keep doing it all day. Hydration really can help in so many ways and conquering the day is just one of them!
