Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are having a great week. This past year has been hard for so many of us and honestly as much as I am hopeful for 2021 I know that the universe does not always comply with our time here on Earth. So it’s not like a magic wand is waved and everything gets magically better all of a sudden. So from the stress of the world and the daily stressors that occur in each of our lives, it’s very common for us to feel drained and exhausted at times. With that, I wanted to share some self care ideas to help when you just don’t know if you can keep going.
I know it’s easier said than done, but it’s actually really easy. It’s one of the easiest things to do, yet it’s one of the ones we most often leave out. Drink some water. It helps in so many ways. It boosts your energy. It boosts your mood. It’s good for your health. Really there is no reason not to drink water. It helps in more ways than I can list out right now, so I will leave you with go drink a glass of water and thank me later.
Even in the midst of stress and chaos, there is always something to be thankful for. Food to eat, people to love, a place to live. All things to be thankful for. Doughnuts, Netflix, Mascara. Also things to be thankful for. I challenge you to take some time everyday to list out ten things you are grateful for. No matter how big or small they seem. Write them down. Choose to be grateful even when life feels hard sometimes.
Sweat It Out.
There is nothing quite like the idea of putting on some high-energy music and getting your sweat on. It’s honestly become one of my favorite things to do, especially when I feel stressed or overwhelmed. Even if it’s doing something as small as going outside and walking up and down the stairs of my apartment. Every little bit helps and it really helps me overcome so many mental battles I face.
Spend Some Time Outside.
I know it’s cold right now, but you can still spend some time outside even if it’s only a few minutes. Start your day with the cold air hitting your face. Try not being awake after that. Really though, it’s good to get outside and get some fresh air, especially when you feel stressed. Being in the fresh air and connecting with nature is good for the body, mind, and soul. All good reasons to spend a few minutes outside when you can.
Do The Thing.
I know you know what I’m talking. I know you know what the thing is. It’s the thing that you thought of when I said do the thing. It’s the thing that you have been putting off because you don’t have the time or just don’t feel like it. Do that thing and then come back and tell me how you feel. I promise you will feel a lot better because it will probably take you ten minutes and you have been putting it off for days if not weeks. Do. The. Thing.
And that’s it! Those are my favorite self care ideas for when I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed. I turn to them more often that I can count. Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Let us know in the comments what your favorite self care ideas are for when you are stressed or feeling drained. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
