Profound Disney Quotes To Inspire Your New Year

By: Dani Kessel

Disney has always held a special place in my heart. I love to watch Disney movies, belt out the soundtracks in the car, play Disney themed games. My sister and I have been banned from playing on the same team for any family Disney games because we are both such huge disnerds! What a lot of people don’t realize is that the scriptwriters and songwriters responsible for these films have brought us some profound quotes. These give kids (of all ages!) some great lessons.

Here are some of the most profound, earnest, and wise Disney (and Pixar) quotes:

“My love is not fragile.” -Kristoff, Frozen 2

“Oh yes, the past can hurt. But, from the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.” -Rafiki, The Lion King

“For a true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength but the strength of his heart.” -Zeus, Hercules

“If you don’t think, then you shouldn’t talk.” -March Hare, Alice in Wonderland

“They can’t order me to stop dreaming.” -Cinderella, Cinderella

“Keep moving forward.” -Wilbur, Meet the Robinsons

“Today is a good day to try.” -Quasimodo, The Hunchback of Notre Dame

“Your identity is your most valuable possession. Protect it.” -Elastigirl, The Incredibles

“Do not be fooled by its commonplace appearance. Like so many things, it is not what is outside but what is inside that counts.” -Merchant, Aladdin

“Children have to be free to lead their own lives.” -Sebastian, The Little Mermaid

“Happiness is the richest thing we will ever own.” -Donald Duck, Duck Tales: the Movie

“Just because it’s what’s done doesn’t mean it’s what should be done.” -Cinderella, Cinderella(2015)

“There’s no one I’d rather be than me.” -Ralph, Wreck-It Ralph

“I’m only brave when I have to be. Being brave doesn’t mean you go looking for trouble.” -Mufasa, The Lion King

“Keep your chin up; someday there will be happiness again.” -Robin Hood, Robin Hood

“Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.” -Lilo, Lilo and Stitch

“Goodbye may seem forever. Farewell is like the end, but in my heart is my memory and there you will always be.” -Widow Tweed, The Fox and the Hound

“Your library makes our small corner of the world feel big.” -Belle, Beauty and the Beast(2017)

“You’re never too old to be young.” -Happy, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

“I don’t want to survive. I want to live.” -The Captain, Wall-E

“You oughta be proud. You’re a success.” -Timothy Q. Mouse, Dumbo

“The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.”  -The Emperor, Mulan

“You control your destiny — you don’t need magic to do it. And there are no magical shortcuts to solving your problems.”  -Merida, Brave

“You and I are a team. There is nothing more important than our friendship.” -Mike, Monsters Inc.

“If you cannot say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.“ -Thumper, Bambi

“Let love guide your actions” -Tanana, Brother Bear

“Sometimes you gotta get through your fear to see the beauty on the other side” -Poppa, The Good Dinosaur

“Admit defeat, and defeat will surely admit you into permanent custody” -Beret Girl, An Extremely Goofy Movie

“You got the makings of greatness in you, but you gotta take the helm and chart your own course. Stick to it, no matter the squalls” -John Silver, Treasure Planet

“You will always be my greatest adventure.” -Ellie, UP

“Life is a journey to be experienced, not a problem to be solved.” -Pooh, Winnie The Pooh

“Like a shooting star, I will go the distance.” -Hercules, Hercules

“How dare you? All of you, standing around deciding my future? I am not a prize to be won!” -Jasmine, Aladdin

Those are some of my favorite Disney (and Pixar) quotes to bring into next year. We all could use a little guidance in these uncertain times. I hope the quotes inspired you and brought you comfort. If you’re a fellow disnerd, drop your favorite quotes in the comments section below. I could only include so many, but there are hundreds of possibilities!
