Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are having a great week so far. It’s hard to believe that January is already almost halfway over. It feel like it just started! But we are still working on setting ourselves up for success as much as we can this year and with that I wanted to share some ideas on some intentions I think we should all set this year. After all, what we are intentional with tends to be where the most growth happens. So here are some ideas for intentions to set in 2021.
Find a workout you love.
We all know that movement and exercising is important, but what’s more important is finding something that you love. You are more likely to keep up with something and make it a lasting part of your routine if you actually enjoy it. So I challenge you to find a workout that you love this year whether it’s Zumba, a HIIT routine, or joining a workout class. Find something that makes you happy and keeps you going!
Grow your network.
Career growth is a top priority for me this year and one of the ways I am working to do that is by growing my network professionally and personally. Professional connections help me keep up with what’s going on in the business world and helps me learn more about what I need to do to progress. Personal connections keep me connected to different niches and bubbles that may help professionally someday.
Establish a self care routine.
Self care is vital to staying strong and productive mentally and physically. So developing a good routine that helps you put self care at the top of your list should be a priority. When life gets crazy and we get really busy one of the first things to be pushed to the side is ourselves and our health. But let’s be honest here, that’s not really doing anyone any favors. So make yourself and your self care a priority this year.
Try new recipes.
I am a big fan of takeout, but as you guys may know I also really love cooking. It’s been something I have been enjoying and getting more into over the last several months after moving into my apartment. And I have been trying to branch out and try new things these past couple of months. I think it’s a fun way to try new things and learn some new skills. It’s definitely something I will be doing more as the year progresses.
Learn to say no.
It’s difficult sometimes, trust me I know. I have a really hard time saying no but I have learned that it’s really important. Knowing how to say know and when to say no is important because you really don’t want to put too much on your plate at one time. You have to know when you can say yes and how much you can handle. And that’s why calendar blocking and time management are super helpful.
Be better with finances.
Money is a pretty sensitive topic, especially as a young adult because everyone kind of expects you to know what you are doing but they don’t ever actually teach you. And that’s why I think it’s really important that we invest in our own education on personal finance and doing the most with what we have. It’s not always easy, but I think it is something that will be really beneficial down the line and it helps you set yourself up for success in the long run.
Pursue your passions.
I’m not saying quit your day job because we can’t all afford to do that, but I do challenge you take some time this year to take steps toward your passion. Small steps and big steps forward make all the difference in the long run and any progression is better than none at all. I think pursuing your passions is something that so often we put to the side because we feel we don’t have the time. But this year I am challenging you to make the time.
And those are the intentions I think we should all set this year no matter what point you are at. These are things we should all be working on. Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Let us know in the comments what intentions you have set for this upcoming year. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
