Hey guys! Welcome back. I have been thinking a lot lately about life and how I feel about the direction I am headed in. I have been thinking about whether I am truly heading in direction that I am excited about and the keeps me wanting to push forward. And as I have thought about these things I started to think about how I live my life and the rules I try to live by. I re-evaluated the rules I have for myself and I wanted to share them with you today.
Appreciate what I have.
This is not a new one, but one that sometimes isn’t the easiest. I know that life is hard sometimes and I don’t always feel like I am as far along as I would like to be in life. But life is not made easier by feeling down on myself and forgetting everything that I have and everything I have going for me. Life doesn’t get better if I always focus on the negative. So I have been really trying to remember to appreciate what I have even when life isn’t going my way.
See the positive in every situation.
Again, this is not an easy one. I have been in plenty of situations where I couldn’t see how there could possibly be anything good to come out of the situation that I was in. But it always worked out. There was always something good to come out of every situation. So when I am going through something that isn’t easy or is less than ideal, I try to remember to have patience and know that something will come out of whatever it is.
Know that I can’t control everything.
There is nothing in this world that causes me more stress than having to deal with something that is completely out of my control. If it’s not something I can fix and I literally just have to sit and wait, I get so anxious and my stress level is out of this world. And I am constantly reminding myself that I can’t control everything and sometimes life is going to happen. I just have to choose to react in the best way that I can and keep pushing through.
There are many times that i find myself getting way too caught up in the past. I spend way too much time thinking about things from the past that have hurt me in some way or caused some kind of negative feeling. So I am really trying to work on living more in the present moment and taking every chance I have to live the best life that I possibly can. I really want to make life as spectacular as I can.
I consider myself to be a pretty open-minded person. I am kind to everyone who is kind to me (and even to people who aren’t kind to me). I treat everyone as a human being because that’s what we are. Everyone should receive the same amount of love and kindness (unless they do something to make you feel otherwise). I have friends from all different walks of life and I have always been open to anyone who will allow me to be open with them.
So those are the rules I live my life by. I’m sure there may be more, but those were the ones I could think of in the moment. Thank you so much for stopping by! I really hope you enjoyed this.
