Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are having a good week. Mine has been super crazy and I am going to do an update very soon, but all I can say right now is that this week has been anything but normal. So right now I am writing a bunch of content to go out and scheduling as much as I can. I’m not totally sure when things will go back to normal so I’m just using this time while I have it. So today I thought it would be fun to share with you the things I do every night before bed. It’s kind of a night routine, but not really because this is more of just a list of things I try to get done. I will share an updated night routine very soon, but for now here are the things I do every night before bed!
If you saw my mid-year check-in post you probably remember that one of my goals for this year was to read 12 books. Well I’m pretty far behind where I need to be to get that accomplished, so now I’m reading whenever I can. I try to set aside at least 30 minutes every night to get some reading done. I love reading but I haven’t always made the time to do it, so I have really been trying to be intentional with reading here lately.
After a long day, nothing makes me feel better than a really good stretch. Not only does it help me release some stress and energy, but it also helps me relax my mind and have a few mindful moments just to myself. It helps me relieve tension and ensures that I am not going to bed and trying to sleep with tense muscles. Loosening up before bed has really made a lot of difference overall.
Skin care has been a really essential part of my life for many years now, and even though the products I use and the routine I have changes, one thing that will always remain the same is how important skin care is to me. I can tell a significant difference when I am actively doing my skin care routine versus when I am not doing it. It makes a ton of difference in how my skin looks and feels and it’s something I am pretty strict about.
Look At My Calendar.
I always like to know what I have going on the next day. Some things are already pre-planned like if I have to work or if I have a blog post going out. Other things are not always planned. So before I sign off for the night I like to take a few minutes to look at my calendar and see what is already on there and what I might need to add. It’s helpful for the next day so when I look at my calendar I know exactly what needs to be done.
I started journaling earlier this year and it completely changed my life. I learned so much about myself and really started to dig deep. Some of the prompts aren’t the easiest to answer, but they all ultimately lead to growth and a better understanding of what makes me me. So I really try to get some journaling in every night before I go to bed because it helps me get things out of my head and clear my mind.
