Hey guys! Welcome back. It is a new month which means it’s time for our monthly Q&A. These are always my favorite to do, so I am so excited to be back answering more questions that you guys have asked. I always love seeing what you guys want to know and what you are interested in. I also started doing a weekly Q&A over on Instagram (lifewithsamig), so go check that out. I post a new video over there every Saturday, so make sure you go follow so you don’t miss out. But for now, let’s jump into some of these questions!
Are you sassy or someone with a good sense of humor?
I guess a little of both? I’m not sure. I find a lot of things funny but I’m not sure that means I have a good sense of humor. But I also don’t think I’m super sassy. Depends on the day I guess. But I laugh a lot.
Number one thing you look for in a future spouse?
I want someone who is passionate about something. I don’t care what it is (as long as it’s not harming someone). I have been in relationships with people who just don’t have any passions or ambitions and it caused a riff because I’m always looking to grow and make life even more magical. So I need someone who wants to go on that journey with me and grow with me, not just come along for the ride. It’s important that they have goals of their own.
When you’re having an off day, how do you make it better?
It really depends. Usually when I’m having an off day I try to do as little as possible. I find that those are the days when I am needing rest the most, so I typically just try to hang out and not worry about anything in particular. And if it’s a day when I’m working or I do have things I need to get done, I try to give myself something to look forward to for when the day is over.
What is your life’s motto?
“You can be the juiciest, ripest peach in the world and there will still be someone who doesn’t like peaches.”
If you could go back in time, what moment would you want to relive?
Probably the day I moved into my apartment. It was such a big day and a big accomplishment for me, but I was too worried about everything to really take it in and be proud of it. There were so many things I forgot or wasn’t prepared for, and even though it worked out in the end, I didn’t celebrate as much as I would have liked to.
Top three things on your bucket list?
Go to Disney World, visit Japan, and publish a book.
What’s the hardest decision you ever had to make?
Letting some people go. It’s never easy to let people go, especially when they were such a major part of your life. But it was honestly the best thing for me, and probably the best thing for them too.
What is one thing that has inspired you lately?
Seeing people achieve their dreams and make things happen. It’s always inspiring to see other people’s hard work pay off and know that I am capable of doing the same for my dreams and goals.
What’s your biggest insecurity and how do you cope?
My anxiety is definitely a big issue for me. It makes me insecure about everything which makes daily life really difficult. I worry about things I don’t need to worry about and focus on insignificant things. So my anxiety isn’t technically an insecurity, but it causes me to be insecure about a lot of things and there isn’t really one specifically. I cope with it by trying to change my thought process and remember where I am in the moment and what I’m doing. I try to focus more on what’s going right than anything that may or may not be going wrong. Focusing on the positive definitely helps.
What activity calms you down?
Cleaning, oddly enough. Maybe it’s because it’s so satisfying. Maybe it’s just the mindless movement. Whatever it is, cleaning really helps calm me down and helps me relax.
What has God been telling you this year?
That there is a plan beyond what I know in this moment. When I started this year I had no idea any of the things that have happened would happen. Grad school wasn’t in the plans, but in the moment I knew it was right. So I feel like God has just been telling me to keep trusting Him and know that He’s going to take care of me.
What’s your favorite color?
I honestly think my favorite color is pink.
What’s a moment that changed your perspective on life?
The day I found out I was moving into this apartment. It was truly a life changing moment and it was in that moment that I knew I could make it. It wasn’t going to be easy, but I had everything in me that I needed to make this work and I did it.
What is your goal in life right now?
To get to a better place mentally. I feel like once I started feeling better mentally and recover from past trauma I can move forward and focus on other areas of my life that I really need to work on.
What’s a big red flag that you look for when dating?
A red flag that is huge to me is how they talk to you. If they are rude, clingy, or inappropriate while getting to know you, that’s not going to stop when you actually enter a relationship with that person.
What’s the most memorable thing God has done for you?
He brought me the people I have. There isn’t a single friendship that I have that I particularly asked for, but He knew I needed them and He brought them into my life exactly when I needed them.
Do you feel like you have something to prove to yourself?
Not as much anymore. That’s not to say that I’m not still working on things because I absolutely am. But it’s not so much about proving myself as it is just being happy and doing what feels right to me.
Alright, I am going to wrap this one up here. As always it’s such a pleasure getting to answer your questions and see what you guys are curious about. Thank you so much for stopping by!
