Hey guys! Welcome back. As most of you know I have a lot going on all the time. It’s no real surprise that in order to stay on top of things and get it all done I have to stay organized and plan out my week in advance. I usually do this on Saturday or Sunday before the new week really starts and today I wanted to share with you my process for doing so. And because I don’t have a ton of time on my hands I have to be pretty proactive with how I plan things out and get ready for a busy week. So today I wanted to share how I do it when I’m short on time.

Schedule the non-negotiables.

Most of the time I have things that have to be scheduled no matter what and they go in my calendar first. Work is one of those things. I know exactly when I’m working and what days I’m working so I go ahead and put them in first. I also have things like blog posts, appointments, and plans with other people that I go ahead and schedule because I know those aren’t likely to change. I put these in first because they are the most important and I also need to have a visual on how much time I have left in the week and on each individual day.

Make a list.

Once I have the big stuff out of the way I move on to everything else. I make a list of all the things I need and want to get done the rest of the week and prioritize them based on what I feel like needs to be done first. On this list I include things like grocery shopping, laundry, and things that I can be more flexible with in terms of when I do them. Once I have my list I start putting them in my calendar based on the day I can fit it in and how much time I anticipate it taking. I focus on the more urgent things first and then fill out other space later.

Set my priorities.

Even though I leave some room in my calendar to be flexible and move things around when needed, I know there are some things that just won’t get done. So once I have everything planned and put into my schedule, I make sure I set my priorities for the week. Depending on how busy the week is and what I have going on, I make a list of three to seven priorities. I write them on my white board in my room so I know what I am focusing on that week and what I’m trying to get done. And then whatever time I have left is when I will focus on other things.

It’s a pretty simple process, but it works for me and it’s something that has really helped me stay on top of everything that is going on. Life has been busy these past few months so making things like this easier helps a lot and I hope these tips help you too. Thank you so much for stopping by! I really hope you enjoyed this.
