Hey guys! Welcome back. I promised a morning routine post soon and I am here to deliver on that promise. Today I am going to share with you what my morning routine looks like most days. On my days off I don’t really follow this routine exactly, but I keep up with it for the most past. But these are the things I am doing most mornings right now to start my day off on the right foot and give me the boost that I need to stay motivated and productive. It’s not anything super crazy, but it’s what is working for me at the moment and I wanted to share it with all of you.

Get some water.

Gotta stay hydrated, especially in the summer. It’s hard for me to drink water later in the day if I don’t start with it, so I always try to make sure I am getting some water in the morning. It’s a habit I started a while ago and something that has helped so much with making sure I stay hydrated and I am getting enough water throughout the day.

Make my bed.

Since I work from home and my desk is in my bedroom, it’s important that my room is clean and tidy. At least as much as it can be. It’s not always perfect, but making my bed everyday is really essential because it just helps my room feel more clean and put together. It also helps me feel more productive and ready to start the day. Honestly there isn’t really a reason for me not to make my bed.

Stretch.

This is something I try to do immediately when I get out of bed, but I normally have to go to the bathroom first thing and then I get my water. So this usually falls after making my bed because it just feels the most natural. And stretching helps me prepare because I know I’m about to be sitting at my desk all day and I am not going to have too many opportunities to move around for the next eight hours.

Journal.

I try to write in my journal every morning before even looking at my phone. It helps me make sure I am having my own thoughts and having that time to connect with myself before I connect with anyone else. It’s been really helpful in reducing anxiety as well.

Quick workout.

Even if it’s just a ten minute workout, I try to get in some kind of movement in the morning. I find it’s best for me to do a workout in the morning because i can get it out of the way and really does help me feel more energized and ready to start the day. I try to make it as fun as I can as well. Any kind of workout and movement is better than none at all, so I try to do something in the morning.

Eat breakfast.

Breakfast is my absolute favorite meal of the day. I love pretty much all the breakfast foods, so I always look forward to this part of my morning routine. This is around the time I finally start looking at my phone as well. I will start checking in on the rest of the world once I sit down to eat.

And that’s it! That is my morning routine. It’s not anything crazy or elaborate, but it’s simple, just the way I like it. I don’t like for things to be too complicated in the mornings.
