Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are having a great week so far. It may seem a bit counterproductive to talk about failure on a Monday, but why not? I think this might actually be helpful because last week when I was thinking about things going on in my own life and things I am struggling with, failure is definitely one of them. Now I haven’t like outwardly failed at anything recently, but there are things happening in my life that have me thinking about failure and struggling with feeling like I’m not doing as well as I could be. And as those thoughts kept coming into mind I thought it would be good to share some things that I have to remind myself about failure with all of you in case any of you are also struggling. So here are five things to remember about failure.

1. You are not perfect.

This is really important to remember because it’s a reminder that failure is a part of the process. No one is ever going to succeed at every single thing they try and I promise you won’t either. It’s easy to be hard on ourselves and beat ourselves up when things don’t go the way we want them to, but it’s not going to help. You aren’t perfect and you won’t get anywhere by trying to be. Accept the things you do well and accept the things you don’t. And always remember that just because you failed at this doesn’t mean you won’t be successful at something else.

2. Everyone experiences failure.

This kind of goes along with the first one, but it’s important to remember. When it comes to failure, the failure itself isn’t always the thing that we are the most upset about or afraid of. For many it’s the shame that can accompany that failure. So I think it’s really important to remember that everyone fails at something. Maybe not the thing you were trying, but at something else. And if they haven’t failed at anything it’s probably because they are trying new things or putting themselves out there so you are already doing way more than they are. The best thing you can do when you experience failure is grow from it. Take it as an opportunity to learn.

3. You can always try again.

You may not succeed the first time. You may not succeed the second time. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up. If it’s something you really want you can keep trying. Of course you have to be willing to learn and grow because if you want a different result you are going to have to do something different next time. But if it’s something you really want and you really try and put in the work anything is possible. Don’t give up just because it doesn’t work out the first time. Give yourself the time to get back up and keep trying until you get the results you want.

4. It’s not permanent.

Just because you fail at something does not mean you are a failure. Just because this wasn’t successful doesn’t mean you can’t be successful at other things. Failure is not permanent, but you have to be willing to make changes. You have to put in the work to find different results and build better possibilities for yourself. Failure doesn’t have to be a permanent part of who you are if you don’t let it. Get back and try again or try something else. Don’t let this keep you down forever. Life is way to short to let one thing that didn’t go right prevent you from ever trying anything else. You deserve more than that and you can absolutely have more than that.

5. Failure is not the opposite of success.

For many of us we have learned that failure is the opposite of success, but that’s not altogether true. Failure is not the opposite, but rather a part of success. In every success story you read or hear, a big part of that story is the things that didn’t go right first. Failed business, relationships that went wrong, and circumstances that came out of nowhere. People are not successful because they didn’t fail. they are successful because they did fail but they chose to get back up and try again. You can have that same success if you don’t look at failure as the end of the world.

Failure isn’t always the easiest part of success, especially when it’s for something we really want. But it doesn’t have to be the end. Sometimes failure is just the beginning and it may open new doors to new opportunities. Just stay open to whatever comes next and keep going despite how disappointed you feel right now. Thank you so much for stopping by! I really hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Let us know in the comments what you have learned about failure and what important lessons you think are important to remember. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
