Hey guys! Welcome back. I have returned today to share with you my Fall morning routine. Especially with the changes that are happening in my life, it’s going to cause some shifts in my routines. So I thought I would go ahead and share my new routine with all of you. It’s going to involve me getting up pretty early, so I’m probably going to have to make some adjustments, but this is the basic routine.
Regardless of what time I am getting up, I always like to start my day with stretching. It helps me wake my body up and it’s just good for me overall. It helps me start my day off in a much better way and it’s super simple. Just a couple of minutes of light stretching can go pretty far, so it’s something I always do first thing in the morning. Sometimes I do it before I even get out of bed at all. That’s rare though.
Getting up that early, it’s important for me to have as much energy as possible so I start drinking water as early as possible. It’s also just important to hydrate in general. I know if I start with water I’m much more likely to continue drinking water throughout the day. So once I’ve stretched (and used the bathroom) I head to the kitchen to get some water and immediately start drinking it.
Pack my lunch.
Since I’m already in the kitchen I go ahead and prepare my “lunch” for the day. Since I’m going to work at 5:00 in the morning, my lunch will actually be at around 9:00 a.m. so it’s more of a breakfast than anything. Regardless, I try to pack something to take with me that way I can have something to eat when that time comes. I eat lunch when I get home, but it’s good to have something with me so I don’t get too hungry.
I am rarely a morning shower person, so I shower at night before bed. So in the mornings all I have to do is get dressed, do my skin care, and put some makeup on if I feel like wearing any. Just depends on the day really. It doesn’t take much and it honestly doesn’t take too long which is really nice. And taking a shower the night before saves a lot of time and energy in the morning which I love.
Make the bed.
Regardless of what time I’m getting up I always like to make my bed. I used to do this first thing, but it’s something I leave more towards the end now just because I want to get everything else done. Also with a cat it’s a bit more challenging to get the bed made right away. But it’s still something I get done before I head out for the day that way when I get done I know I can come home to a clean space.
Set my intentions.
This is the only thing I do every morning that I don’t necessarily have to do. But it only takes a minute and it really sets the stage for the rest of the day. Setting my intentions helps me make sure that I am getting things done that I want and making sure that I am on the track that I want to be on. It also helps me keep up with progress and just helps me start the day with the right mindset overall.
And that’s all! I don’t do any of the things I used to do like journaling or working out because I leave those for the afternoon when I get off work. If you want me to do an after work routine, let me know and I’ll do that. But since I have to be up so early now it just doesn’t feel right for me to add in the extra stuff since I’m not always feeling it that early in the morning. I try to keep it super basic.
But that is my current, super early morning routine. It’s not much but it’s always helpful to have a solid routine. Thank you so much for stopping by! I really hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Let us know down in the comments what your current morning routine is and what you favorite part is. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
