Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are all having a great week. You guys asked for this and I am here to deliver it. Today I am sharing my after work routine. Now that I’m going to be working from 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. I’m going to have my afternoon’s to myself. It also means I will have less time in the mornings because let’s be honest I’m not getting up any earlier than I have to. So there are some things that used to be a part of my morning routine that are now a part of my after work routine and I figured I would share those with you today!

Do Not Disturb.

This is also part of my morning routine, but it’s also a part of my after work routine. After nine hours of dealing with people I like to take some time after work just for me. I don’t always actually put my phone on Do Not Disturb, but it is on silent and usually put away. During this time I like to give Penny lots of attention since she has pretty much been alone for the past nine to ten hours and I just relax. This new job involves a lot of walking and moving, so it’s nice to just relax for a bit before getting up and doing anything else.

Eat Lunch.

Since my lunch at work is technically breakfast since it’s anywhere from 8:30 – 9:30 in the morning, I have lunch once I get home from work. It usually depends on how hungry I am because I know I’ll be having dinner not too much longer since I go to bed earlier now. But I like to have something, even if it’s something small just to tide me over. Sometimes I like to watch some TV while I do this or I’ll just sit and check in on the rest of the world since I haven’t spent much time checking in for most of the day. It just depends on how I’m feeling.

Go outside.

I know it sounds crazy but I walk my cat. Yes. I have a leash and a harness for her and we walk around. She spent most of her life as a stray cat and she really likes being outside so I take her outside for a little bit. It’s great for me because I can get out and enjoy some fresh air while she gets to get some as well and move around. It’s honestly just great for both of us and it’s something we both really look forward to everyday. And if she doesn’t feel like going outside, I will usually still step outside for a bit just by myself.

Set the mood.

Unwinding and relaxing is an important part of my after work routine and there are quite a few things I do to prepare for this. The first thing I do is clean up anything that needs to be cleaned up. It’s hard to relax when there’s clutter around or the room is messy. So I’ll pick up anything that needs to be put away and just tidy up a bit. I will also light a candle because as we all know, I love candles. Sometimes I will play some music as well. I put on some comfier clothes and grab a blanket so I can really start to relax and unwind.

Work on the blog.

This can look like a number of different things. Sometimes it’s actually writing a blog post. Sometimes it’s planning future content. Sometimes it’s responding to comments. Whatever it is, this is usually the time that I do it. I like to take a good amount of time to work on this because it is one of my favorite things to do and something I really look forward to. I also love getting to see what you guys are wanting to see from me so a lot of times I will check Instagram and chat with you guys there. I always love when you guys send me messages.

Journal.

Journaling is something that has had such a positive impact on my life. It’s really helped me get to know myself better and reconnect with myself. Sometimes I have to answer questions that cause me to really think and figure things out. I have to think about things I never would have thought of otherwise. It’s really interesting and something I always look forward to everyday. It’s a great way for me to get out some of my thoughts also and the things that are causing me a lot of stress. It’s really helpful.

And that’s it! Any free time I have is spent doing other things like watching TV, reading, cleaning, and other things.
