Hey guys! Welcome back. I know today is Thursday, but I got request from one of you guys to share what I do on the weekends to prepare for a new week. And I thought I would share today so you have a couple of days to read this in case you miss it. Since I work on Sundays I really only have Saturday to prepare, but that’s okay. It just means I probably do a little less than most people do. But these are the things that I do every Saturday to prepare for a new week.

Clean.

I get up really early since I’m used to getting up early now so I usually spend the first hour or so when I actually get up to clean. I clean up my bathroom and bedroom mostly and then if things need to be done in the kitchen and living room I will do those too. But it stays pretty clean out there so there usually isn’t much to do. I sometimes do my laundry on Saturday also but sometimes I leave it for Tuesday which is my other day off.

Map out the next week.

Google Calendar is something that I have been using regularly for years. It helps me keep track of all the things I am doing, what I need to do, my schedule, and what times things are happening. And everything is color-coded which is super helpful. So I spend time once I’m done cleaning mapping out the next week. When I work, blog posts that are going out, and anything else I need to be prepared for and that I need to remember.

Plan my meals.

Meal planning is something I used to think was super complicated and time-consuming. But once I started actually doing it for myself I realized how easy it is and how helpful it is. I plan my meals for the week because when I come home from work I’m usually too exhausted to try to figure it out. I also try to meal prep as much as I can just so everything is ready to go when the day comes and it’s time to eat.

Set new weekly goals.

I always have monthly goals, but the only way to accomplish them realistically for myself is to break them down into weekly goals. So once I have my week planned out, my meals planned, and I’m still sitting with my computer and notebook, I will set those weekly goals for myself. This just helps me stay on track with everything and helps me make sure I am accomplishing the goals I have set for myself.

Go to bed a little earlier.

After a long week sometimes it’s really nice to be able to get a little extra sleep. So on Saturdays I really like to get into bed a little bit earlier even if I don’t go to sleep right away. Sometimes I do some reading or just snuggle with Penny for a bit, but sometimes I actually do end up falling asleep. It really helps me recover from the previous week and get ready for a new week because I know I’m going to be exhausted.

Spend time reading.

I’m really getting back into reading and one of my favorite things to do on Saturdays is spend a little extra time reading. Sometimes I’ll even do it while I’m taking a bubble bath. It’s just a great way to get lost in someone else’s thoughts and not have to worry about anything else for a little bit. It also helps me make sure I am hitting my reading goals and staying on top of getting all the books read that I want to read.

And that’s it! Those are the things I do every Saturday to prepare for the week ahead. Most of them don’t take up too much time, but they really help me through the week. Thank you so much for stopping by! I really hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Let us know in the comments what you do on the weekends to prepare for a new week. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
